2017 Fall Theater Classes

About Our Theater Program

Arts Avenue for Kids theater classes are designed to help the students develop excellence in theater while giving honor to God!   In each class we will emphasize important acting techniques, building confidence, respect for one another, and having fun! This not only helps our students achieve theatrical excellence, but important life lessons as well.  Providing a place for students to produce a high quality show and to make life-long friends is extremely important to us!  Our fall and spring theater class sessions are semester classes which meet once a week.  All classes close the semester by putting on a show for family and friends! Our summer camps are week long day camps throughout June, July and August. There are no classes the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years or Georgetown ISD Spring Break.

Our Mission

At Arts Avenue, our theater instructors focus on creating a loving and fun environment for every student while maintaining  quality technique for strong actors.

Arts Avenue for Kids is not affiliated with a church body. Everyone is welcome! We would love for your child to join us on a journey of learning the arts. In everything we do, we will strive to give honor to God!

**2017 Fall Theater term classes begin the week of Aug. 28th and go through December unless otherwise stated.  New classes will begin again in our Spring term in February.*

Imagine It! – Mondays 9:30-10:30am – ages 3-5

Does your little one like to pretend?  Do they make up songs and dance around the house?  Then this class is for them!  Our young students will use their imaginations as we create stories together using costumes and props.  We will play theater games, do face-painting, make puppets and learn a short scene and song for their final show in December!  This is a great time to help them cultivate their imaginations!

Homeschool Musical Revue – Mondays 1:30-3:00pm – ages 7-12

Join us for a fun semester of acting, singing and dancing!  Our homeschool class will have fun putting on a Musical Revue of a Broadway musical which they will perform for family and friends in December!  This class will teach students what it takes to put on a show as well as basic acting, singing, and dancing techniques.

Theater Combo – Tuesdays 6:30-7:45pm – ages 8-12

Our Theater Combo class is a great introduction to many aspects of theater!  Students will learn about acting, mime, puppetry, singing, choreography, improvisation and more!  Students will also learn a couple of scenes and songs from a Broadway show which they will perform for family and friends in December!

Introduction to Production – “Raggedy Ann & Andy” – Tuesdays 4:00-5:15pm – ages 6-8

Our Introduction to Production class will be performing a 30-minute musical production!  This class is a great opportunity for our younger students to have lots of fun performing while learning what it takes to be in a full production including acting, singing, choreography, costumes, lights, etc. before being on the larger stage.  The performance will be held at the studio in December (date to be determined).

KIDS Production – “The Velveteen Rabbit” – Mondays 4:30-6:00pm – Grades 3rd-5th

Our new production class for Middle School and 9th grade students will be doing the full musical production of Disney’s “The Lion King, Jr.“!   Performance dates are February 15-17.  Students will need to prepare a monologue that will be provided by us as well as a verse and chorus of a Disney or Broadway song to audition for parts.  Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 1:00pm.  Our first class session will be on Monday, August 28th.

**FULL** – SENIOR Production – “Meet Me in St. Louis” – Mondays 6:00-8:00pm – Ages 13 and up

Our Senior cast will be performing the full Broadway musical “Meet Me in St. Louis“!  Students in grades 10th-12th will need to prepare a one-minute comedic monologue as well as one verse and chorus of a Broadway song to audition for parts.  Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 9:00am.  Students ages 13 through 9th grade that are in “The Lion King, Jr.” may be a part of the chorus of “Meet Me in St. Louis“.  Those students will not need to audition or be at every rehearsal and will not need to pay tuition for this class – only a one-time production fee of $75.  They will only need to attend the choreography rehearsals and all technical rehearsals and performances.  Performances and tech week will be the week of January 15-20th.
